2022 Mercedes C-Class All-Terrain Revealed With New Tech

When the Stuttgart-based company puts on a 2022 Mercedes C-Class All-Terrain inside, then proper bumper strips, more ground clearance, and all-wheel drive are involved. We know that at the price of the special version of the T-model.

Apart from models like the  2022 Mercedes C-Class All-Terrain, which starts at a price of a good 50,000 euros (as of August 2021), one could speculate that the number of new SUVs on our roads is directly related to their increasingly poor quality. However, this cannot be proven. But the fact is that many former station wagon drivers have switched to an SUV. Advantage: You sit one idea higher and think you are on the particular safe side, because who or what should stop an SUV? Disadvantage: The high seats are consistently more expensive than the standard series on which they are technically based, and the trunk is usually not larger.

What could help is the connection of both worlds. Daimler has advice and is providing the All-Terrain based on the T-Model of the current E-Class with a C-Class derivative that follows the same principle. That differs from the T-model at first glance. Special bumpers, a separate radiator grille, dark gray wheel arch linings – so-called claddings – and indicated underride guards at the front and rear indicate the special position. Another feature is the body, which is 40 millimeters higher than that of the production model.

Washed-out ravines or bumpy slopes off the beaten track shouldn’t be a problem for the all-terrain, which is of course far too good to make your way through the undergrowth. For those who are extra rough, the G-Class, which is available for 116,953 euros (as of August 2021), is more suitable. The optical modifications also lead to slightly changed external dimensions. With four millimeters more length, the 2022 Mercedes C-Class All-Terrain comes to 4755 millimeters, the width increased by 21 to 1841 millimeters, and the height, thanks to the increased ground clearance, to 1494 millimeters. Aluminum wheels with 225/55 R 17 tires are fitted at the factory. On request, they give way to the format 245/45 R 18 or 245/40 R 19.
