The Citroen Berlingo has been a convincing family van for years with plenty of space and good all-around qualities. Now the Berlingo is going electric! The Citroen e-Berlingo will soon be available and, in addition to the well-known advantages, now also offers locally emission-free driving. We have pictures and information for you.
The launch of the Berlingo in 1996 established the high-roof station wagon segment. For three generations now, the Berlingo has been one of the most popular vehicles in this segment – and despite this, Citroen keeps up with the times. Electric cars are far more than just a trend, which is why the manufacturer is now also offering the Berlingo fully electric as the e-Berlingo.
You still have to be patient if you want to buy the practical family high-roof combination as an electric version.
Citroen e-Berlingo Prices
The Citroen e-Berlingo will go on sale in autumn 2021. What it should cost is not yet known. The classic Berlingo starts at a base price of just under 21,000 euros. The electric version is likely to be more expensive, we estimate that the e-Berlingo could start at around 31,000 euros.
Engines
Even as an electric version, the Citroen e-Berlingo remains a family car that is comfortable and easy to drive. Even as an electric car, it is not a sporty car, as you can see from the performance data: The e-Berlingo has a 50 kWh battery that allows a range of a maximum of 280 kilometers. In the e-Berlingo, too, you can increase the range through recuperation, especially in city traffic
The battery was installed under the seats and the loading area so that no space is lost in the interior. And anyone afraid of a dead battery does not have to worry. Citroen gives an eight-year guarantee on the battery or 160,000 kilometers with a 70 percent charge capacity.

The power of the e-Berlingo is 136 hp, the maximum torque is 260 Nm. You can choose between three different driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Power. No matter which model you choose, the top speed is always 135 km / h.
In normal mode, the range and performance are optimized, the eco mode is designed to optimize energy consumption and limits the drive and heating performance to get as many kilometers of range as possible. If you have switched on the power, you get the full performance of the e-Berlingo even with maximum payload.
The 50 kWh battery has to be charged at some point. There are several options for this: Either you look for a public quick-charging station where the e-Berlingo with 100 kW can be charged to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. Or you have a wall box with 11 kW that fully charges the battery in around five hours. It is also possible to charge it from a household socket, but this takes a lot of time.
Citroen e-Berlingo Exterior
Those who opt for the e-Berlingo have the choice between the length M (4.40 meters) and the length XL (4.75 meters). Depending on the version selected, there is space for up to seven people. The height of the Berlingo is 1.90 meters, which shouldn’t be a problem in underground garages either.
A big advantage of the Berlingo is its sliding side doors. This is because you can not only get in and out easily and comfortably but also park in tight parking spaces without damaging neighboring vehicles. The tailgate is made wide so that you can easily stow your luggage.
Citroen e-Berlingo Interior
The interior is primarily characterized by a generous amount of space. But the e-Berlingo has even more to offer because it creates a feel-good atmosphere through a light-flooded interior and many options for modularity. A total of 28 storage compartments with a total of 167 liters of storage space can be found in the interior of the e-Berlingo. Everyone can safely stow their personal belongings in the right place here.

Safety is also ensured, as a total of 18 assistance systems can be selected for the e-Berlingo. Among other things, the lane departure warning, a blind spot assistant, a head-up display, a 180-degree reversing camera, and a trailer stability control are part of the assistance system selection.
The trunk of the e-Berlingo is – as you would like it – very spacious. As a five-seat version in length M, the load volume is 775 liters; if you choose length XL, you get 1,050 liters. A very good feature is the separately opening rear window of the e-Berlingo, which simplifies access to the cargo area if you do not have that much space to open the entire trunk.
The trunk cover itself can also be adjusted to two heights, giving you the choice between a flat loading surface or more space.
