Will Lucid launch an electric pickup with the longest range?

Lucid is already thinking about its next release. And it is a complete mystery what will come after the launch of Gravity. However, these images could be illuminating.

Lucid Motors is one of the current companies with the greatest potential in the electric car sector. The company, originally from the United States, already has points of sale in Europe, where several units of the Lucid Air, its electric sedan that competes head-to-head with the Tesla Model S, have been registered. The firm’s next launch will be seen electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity. But what will come next? A leak demonstrates the company’s interest in an electric pick-up.

The electric pick-up sector is booming. In the United States, it has always been one of the most loved and sought-after segments and now, with the electrification of the vehicle fleet, there are hardly any brands that give up their alternative for that market. Furthermore, there are many who not only think about marketing them in North America but also in other territories, such as Europe.

Lucid’s new electric pick-up

Although there are other alternatives, currently all eyes are on the electric pick-ups from Ford (the F-150 Lightning), Tesla (Cybertruck), or  Rivian (R1T), as they are the ones with the most sales within the sector. Lucid, for his part, does not want to leave behind the opportunity to enter this famous club and has already flirted with the idea of launching his electric alternative.

From the Lucid-Forum portal, they have published the image of an electric pick-up hunted in the company’s facilities. This model, still made of clay, suggests that it is a vehicle that is still in a very early stage of its development. Next to said model also rests a prototype of what appears to be a Lucid Gravity.

In general terms, it can be said that Lucid’s electric pick-up bears a close aesthetic relationship with the rest of the models shown by the brand so far (Air and Gravity). It highlights a front with thin and stylized headlights that cross the entire width of the car, as well as decorations on the lower bumper with openings at the ends to ventilate the wheel arches.

In addition to this, it also sports a very inclined A-pillar, to favor aerodynamics, very wide frames, and a small spoiler on the rear window. However, since it is still a clay model, many aspects may change from the production version. At the moment, nothing else is known about this mysterious model that Lucid will soon put on the market.

A few months ago, in a meeting with investors, the company’s leadership already talked about the possibility of launching an electric pick-up in addition to other additional models. A total of six products are included in the firm’s plans for the year 2030: the Air, the Gravity, a sedan, an SUV, a coupe, and a pick-up. With this, they expect that for said year the brand will have a production of around 500,000 units per year.
