The first thing that strikes you when driving an electric car is its incredible acceleration. Unlike a gasoline or diesel engine, an electric motor delivers its maximum torque instantly. Now, there are electric cars that accelerate faster than others. And in this article, indeed, we have made a selection of the 5 electric cars with the most acceleration from 0-60 mph.
Tesla Model S Plaid

This version of Tesla’s sedan, the Tesla Model S Plaid, has a 95 kWh battery capacity and offers a range of 396 miles. But in it, the key is performance in terms of acceleration and top speed. Number one on the list of electric cars with the most acceleration, of course, is a Tesla model and it does 0-60 mph in just 1.9 seconds. Acceleration of heart attack that, in addition, is complemented by its top speed of 216 mph.
Tesla Model X Plaid

The second is not another sedan, no, it’s an SUV. Even though this type of vehicle, due to the shape of its bodywork, has worse aerodynamics, Tesla has managed to position its Tesla Model X Plaid in the second position among the fastest accelerating electric cars. It shares the same 95 kWh capacity battery as the Model S Plaid, but its autonomy is 333 miles and, of course, its maximum speed is also lower 163 mph. Despite all this, its acceleration from 0-60 mph is impressive: 2.3 seconds.
Lucid Air Dream Edition P

The third position among the electric cars with the most acceleration goes to the Lucid Air Dream Edition P, another impressive electric car with aerodynamics and performance, in general, that is truly remarkable. It does it from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, but in addition to that, it has a 118 kWh battery that allows it to offer a range of 471 miles. So no, the benefits are not at all at odds with the autonomy of an electric car which, by the way, reaches a maximum speed of 173 mph. Not bad huh?
Porsche Taycan Turbo S

Although it is his first electric car, the Porsche Taycan is an incredible car. And the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is the one that occupies the fourth position in this ranking. With a battery capacity of 83.7 kWh and a lower weight, it was clear that this electric sports car had to be fast. Its acceleration from 0–60 mph is completed in 2.6 seconds and its maximum speed is 161 mph. But of course, with a smaller battery, it is not surprising that its autonomy remains at 201 miles, which is much less.
Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo

And although it is the same, with a different body, the ‘top 5’ of electric cars with more acceleration is closed by the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo. This version of Porsche’s electric sports car reaches a top speed of 161 mph and its autonomy is slightly lower, at 245 miles. The rest of the features are the same. It has the same 83.7 kWh capacity battery and, of course, it also has an acceleration from 0–60 mph that is completed in just 2.7 seconds.
