Audi A6 Avant 2022: Facelift, Hybrid & Dimensions

The Audi A6 Avant Facelift will start in 2022, which will generally come with electrified engines but will also be available as a plug-in hybrid. The dimensions (length) and the trunk volume remain unchanged. Popular equipment options such as the S Line are supplemented by the Allroad Quattro adventure station wagon.

The current luxury class series has been rolling off the assembly line since 2018, with the Audi A6 Avant Facelift coming in the model year 2022. Then with an even more expressive radiator grille and revised lighting graphics, as our drawing already illustrates. From a technical point of view, the modular longitudinal construction kit for vehicles with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and motors installed lengthways to the direction of travel remains.

The driving range currently starts with the 163 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel and extends to the 600 hp RS 6, an eight-cylinder that will only be available in the Avant in the future. All engines will be electrified, i.e. equipped with a 48-volt electrical system, but the A6 station wagon in this generation will not be exclusively electric. In return, the electric range of the plug-in hybrids increases to 100 kilometers.

A longer-range is too inefficient due to the still quite heavy and expensive battery technology. For fans of high-rise station wagons, the Audi A6 Avant Facelift 2022 is the return of the A6 Allroad Quattro, which is only available as a station wagon, i.e. the robust version. Popular equipment packages such as the S Line remain.

Audi A6 Avant 2022 Interior

As a representative of the luxury class, the Audi A6 Avant Facelift 2022 is of course also defined by its dimensions: With a length of around 4.94 meters, the interior remains generous as usual and the trunk volume of 595 to 1370 liters is most likely unchanged. To do this, the Ingolstadt-based company intervenes in the cockpit layout and replaces the two separate monitors with a central touchscreen.

Introduced in the Audi Q4 e-Tron, the new head-up display with augmented reality functions, which for example project arrows from the navigation system virtually onto the road in front of the car, will be found onboard the Audi A6 Avant Facelift 2022.

Extended assistance systems like the A8, which in theory enable autonomous driving (level 3) without considering the driver, but are legally not yet allowed to complete the facelift. The price is still purely speculative, but the base price of currently 50,590 euros (as of May 2021) will also be a good indicator in the future.
