During the last few weeks, Cadillac has been revealing teasers and details of its new models. Now, the American company took advantage of the 2021 edition of the 24 hours of Daytona to present the first images of the long-awaited CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing.
Also, the company released a 60-second video on the occasion of the Rolex 24 race at Daytona, where you can see the new Blackwings circling a circuit at night. These models gave free rein to their six and eight-cylinder engines.
That being said, the two models closely resemble conventional vehicles but will differ by their aggressive front end with larger air intakes and special ducts. It is important to mention that its official presentation will take place tonight.
What’s New?
Now the models will arrive with an aerodynamic body kit, which will include a front splitter, rear wing, and canards on the CT4-V Blackwing. Additionally, these vehicles will feature vented front fenders and unique side skirts.

Similarly, the new vehicles will be offered with forged magnesium wheels that promise to reduce weight and improve ride and handling characteristics. On the other hand, the interior will include a digital instrument cluster, along with a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel and carbon fiber details.

Also, users who purchase the CT5-V Blackwing will be able to opt for carbon fiber front seats with laser-etched V-series logos. Its performance specifications have not been confirmed at the moment.

However, none of these models will use the Omega platform, released by the Cadillac CT6. Similarly, these vehicles will not include the V8 LTA Blackwing block with which they precisely share their name, but both will arrive with important evolutions of the mechanics of their predecessors.

However, the CT4-V could come with an upgraded version of the 3.6-liter Biturbo V6 that powered the ATS-V. It should be remembered that this system produced 464 hp and 603 Nm of torque, for this reason, a ‘slight’ improvement is expected concerning these figures.
Thus, the CT5-V will perhaps incorporate a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with around 650 hp and 880 Nm of torque. It is worth mentioning that the American firm has already mentioned that this will allow the new model a maximum speed of 322 km / h.

Now, these two new vehicles will arrive with a six-speed manual transmission, which promises to be “quieter and more durable” than those used in the ATS- and CTS-V. Also, users will be able to request a ten-speed automatic gearbox.
