Citroen C5 Aircross 2022 Facelift with Premium SUV

One of the most relevant novelties that Citroen will debut soon will be the update of the C5 Aircross, its representative vehicle in the segment of medium SUVs.

Citroenn finalizes all the preparations to renew the C5 Aircross. According to unofficial information coming to us from France, the redesigned mid-size SUV is expected to feature a slightly changed front area, more modern-looking rear light clusters, and slightly modified body side panels. The commercial premiere of the update of this popular SUV is expected in 2022.

The C5 Aircross has been hitting European roads for three years. In the first place, it landed in 2018 in the Chinese market, and shortly after it landed in our continent. This medium SUV of the French firm will receive an interesting update in the middle of the natural life cycle of its first generation, according to the spy images published by some media of a prototype with the corresponding “camouflage suit”, a “mysterious” vehicle immortalized not far from the Citroen factory in Renne-La Janis (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Returning to the design chapter and more specifically, various sources ensure that the front of the C5 Aircross 2022 could partly adopt the new light signature of the headlights that the C3 Aircross 2021 has just released. On the other hand, a change of image in the body protection parts is also expected, as well as a more than a predictable new look for the rear drivers. However, no design changes are expected either to the roof rack bars or to the chrome arches that frame the entire glass area of the vehicle.

Citroen C5 Aircross 2022 Interior

The interior of the C5 Aircross 2022 is, for the moment, a mystery. From France, they assure that it could receive more modern elements, as has happened recently in the recent update of the Peugeot 3008. Currently, the average SUV of the chevrons firm offers a digital screen for multimedia information, navigation, 8-inch entertainment, and connectivity, a size that could be slightly increased in the next update next year.

In the mechanical chapter, no major modifications are expected in this regard, although small adjustments in the internal functioning of the engines together with another series of technological solutions could result in a slight improvement in terms of consumption and polluting emissions. In this way, under the hood, the update of the French SUV could offer a 130 hp 1.2 PureTech petrol engine and a somewhat more efficient 130 hp 1.5 BlueHDI diesel. On the other hand, at the top of the range should continue to offer the Hybrid plug-in hybrid version with 225 hp of combined maximum power.
