Polestar 6 LA Concept Edition sells out in just a week

Even though its production will not start until 2026, the Polestar 6 is already a success. And is that the electric sports car, whose design will be based on that of the Polestar O₂ prototype, has caused such a sensation during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that almost all the corresponding units with the special launch edition LA Concept Edition have sold out in just one week.

The only reason why not all of the 500 copies planned have been assigned is that the reservations corresponding to certain markets (Iceland, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Singapore, New Zealand…) have not yet been opened. The order book in these markets will open next September.

Even though those interested in this special edition have had to deposit $25,000 to complete their reservation, many have been left at the gates of getting their unit. For this reason, Polestar will advance the opening of reservations for the standard model to next year.

“The great interest from our customers shows that an impressive electric roadster like the Polestar 6 has great relevance in the field of sports cars. The combination of open top and electric appeals to even the most die-hard motor lovers,” says Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar.

The Polestar 6 will have 884 CV of power

The Polestar 6 has been conceived as a “halo” model of the Swedish manufacturer to replace the disappeared Polestar 1 . Based on a shortened version of the Polestar 5 platform, it will have a chassis constructed from glued aluminum, allowing it to combine superlative rigidity with very low weight. Unlike most rivals, it will use a metal retractable roof instead of a canvas one.

Initially, it will have an 800-volt electrical architecture, while its propulsion system will consist of two motors (one per axle, so it will have all-wheel drive) capable of delivering 884 hp (650 kW) of power and 900 Nm of pair. Thanks to this, it will complete the 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The special edition LA Concept Edition has been created in homage to the Los Angeles Motor Show, the event in which the Polestar O₂ was first presented. This variant will have a configuration similar to that of the prototype, as its body will be painted in “Sky Blue”, it will equip 21-inch wheels and will have white leather upholstery.
