The premiere of the Taycan Cross Turismo will take place on March 4, 2021. The market launch in Europe will be in summer 2021. How much money you have to budget for the Cross Turismo is not yet known. But we could imagine that up to 200,000 euros could be due for the Turbo S version. Less powerfully motorized versions could start at around 90,000 euros.
New Engines
Porsche has not yet revealed the exact performance data of the sports station wagon, but if you look at the Taycan sedan, you can guess what is in store for us. The limousine draws its energy from a 93.4 kWh battery, which ensures a range of almost 400 kilometers. With overboost switched on, the Taycan has an output of 761 hp, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is possible in an extremely fast 2.8 seconds.
But there will very likely also be the other three versions with less power and less power, but with more range, which would then also have to be a lot cheaper.
Since the Cross Turismo is designed more like a station wagon and thus will have a slightly larger rear, this could also have an impact on acceleration and range. More weight usually means less range and poorer acceleration values - but more details remain to be seen.
The Taycan Cross Turismo proves that the “ station wagon ” is still primarily a sports car in a tunnel, for example, when the Sport Plus mode is switched to. Then an artificial engine sound is generated that is in no way inferior to the “real sound”.
The driving characteristics should not differ from the sedan either, there are even a few additional capabilities. The Cross Turismo can drive much better on bumpy roads and paths thanks to its higher body and there is also more space for luggage and passengers.
Same Like Taycan
As far as the design of the Cross Turismo is concerned, it is partly reminiscent of the Panamera, which is a bit of a shame – the Taycan deserves a bit more independence. The manufacturer’s goal is to develop a car for people with an active lifestyle so that the Taycan can be the perfect companion both in the city and in the country.
So that this succeeds and the e-athlete does not have to give up even at the smallest pothole, the ground clearance has been increased and the suspension system has been improved. The Cross Turismo also has a special driving mode for CUVs (Cross Utility Vehicles). This should bring optimal stability, but at the same time ensure enough power and dynamic performance, even if the road is not asphalted, but gravel, for example.
