47 years after the end of the legendary Dino, the Italians are again launching a sports car with a V6 engine: the Ferrari 296 GTB. We know that about the price and horsepower of the hybrid model.

Although it does not have its name, it does have a V6 in the middle, which has not existed since 1974 – except in Formula 1. The name 296 GTB is also in the best Maranello tradition: the first two numbers stand for the displacement of 2992 cubic centimeters, the third for the number of cylinders. The rest of them see themselves as the Gran Turismo Berlinetta.
Whether the car is called Dino or not, it quickly turns into smoke and mirrors as soon as the approximately 830 PS (electric motor with 167 PS) strong athlete slams its occupants into the seats inside in no time thanks to electrical assistance. In contrast to the also hybridized SF90 Stradale, the electric motor in the 296 GTB only works on the rear axle and should also be able to move it for 25 kilometers purely electrically. Incidentally, the three-liter six-cylinder is not the Nettuno unit from the Maserati MC20, but a completely new development that will probably also be found in the Purosangue SUV in the future.

The aerodynamics department is proud not only of the front lip, which provides a lot of contact pressure but also of the holes in the headlights that transport cooling air to the brakes.
The rear, in turn, has an extendable spoiler between the small rear lights. The whole lot behind the driver: in and the front passenger: in is reminiscent of the 250 LM with the vertical window and the rounded proportions, which went down in history as one of the first mid-engined Ferraris. The Italians have not yet announced how high the price for the Ferrari 296 GTB (2021) will be.
