The new generation of the Lexus LX has just been presented, revealing its image, its engine, and its technological innovations. With an imposing aesthetic, the new Lexus 4 × 4, will be the only SUV of the Toyota group that represents this segment in the US since we remember that its base brother, the Toyota Land Cruiser, will not arrive in this country.
After more than 25 years of experience in the market, this great SUV with a wide section of luxury inside and outside has presented its third generation that without a doubt, we do not believe that it disappoints anyone, at least aesthetically.
Chunky and with a lot of presence
On its front, we find a gigantic grill as the protagonist with the same shape that we are used to seeing in other models of the brand such as the NX or the ES lately. On both sides of this grill, we find two headlights in a sharp shape and LED technology. Finally, the two large cooling inlets together with the fog lamps, complete the image full of the presence and personality of the new model.
From its side view, it is without a doubt where we can highlight the Land Cruiser’s DNA the most. Its marked and muscular wheel arches, its high hood, and its C-pillar in a similar way help us to distinguish the similarity of the new LX with its brother of another brand.
The rear also feels wide and muscular thanks to its large boot lid, its rather bulky but very well-integrated bumper, and its two LED taillights that we could already see in the teasers published a few days ago.
Another of the great novelties that are part of the range of the new Lexus LX is the F Sport finish. With the included one, some nice rims of no less than 22 inches are mounted, some more cane features, and as icing on the cake, a limited-slip differential signed by the specialist Torsen.
Luxury and exclusivity in abundance
Inside, the new LX features two 12.3-inch and 7-inch touchscreens as protagonists of its interior. The largest one is the one that houses the infotainment system and the lower one, will only be dedicated to the selection of the type of driving thanks to the Multi-Terrain Select system and the climate control. A smart enough maneuver to avoid taking your eyes off the road wandering through menus to simply turn on the air conditioning.
The new Lexus LX can have space from four to seven people depending on the chosen seating configuration. In addition, based on the Land Cruiser, as we have already told you, the new platform has significantly improved its weight and torsional rigidity, which has now been increased.
Welcome V6
Under its hood, as some theories have already pointed out, the V8 has been relegated by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 415 hp of power and 649 Nm of torque associated with a ten-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
The expected arrival in which this new generation begins to land at dealerships will be around the first quarter of 2022. Until then we will only have to wait to learn important information such as what its price will be and how its range will be made up.
