Who Was the Creator of JDM?

From the looks of it, there is no single person or entity responsible for the creation of JDM. What is known is that it was the Japanese car manufacturers themselves who promoted this trend.

You have to go back to the 1980s to see that brands such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Subaru began developing cars specifically designed to meet the needs of the Japanese market. These vehicles stood out for their innovative design, advanced technology, and high-quality standards.

These same manufacturers took advantage of the growing demand for sports and high-performance cars in Japan to create exclusive models that were only sold in that country. These vehicles, known as “JDM sports cars”, became symbols of Japanese automotive culture and were popular throughout the planet.
